About
OUR MISSION
Located in Huntsville, Alabama, Wheels 4 Working is here to help the low income working community and those in need of transportation for work. Like many other cities in Alabama Huntsville is spread out over a large area and we continue to grow. Public transportation, while available, is somewhat limited. Our mission is to help low income individuals to maintain their transportation resources in order to keep their jobs.
St. Vincent de Paul Society and Huntsville-Madison County Transportation Coalition have joined forces to create, "Wheels 4 Working." The Coalition is comprised of a conglomerate of organizations working together to bridge a path for success for our clients. It is our goal to keep our clients working, enabling them to provide for their family without the need for public assistance.
Since 2013 over $390K has been spent on repairs to allow our neighbors to get to work.
Our Repair Program is devoted solely to getting those working individuals to and from work. The program begins with vehicle donations. Donated Vehicles can be either working or not working, as long as the vehicle can be towed. If you donate a vehicle to Wheels 4 Working, we will make sure you receive your tax deductible receipt for your donation. We gladly accept both working and non-working vehicles including a variety of vehicles such as: automobiles, commercial vehicles, motorcycles, RV's, boats with trailers, etc. The only stipulation on non working vehicles is that the vehicle must be towable. In addition, we are always grateful for any financial contributions.
If you would like to become a sponsor or to volunteer your time, please call our local office (256)-319-7871. We welcome any nonprofit organization, business, government or religious organization to the table and are interested in what you have to say. When we come together as a community, there is hope for light at the end of the tunnel for our working poor. Please consider joining the coalition; your help is needed!
